Late News early April Bussow Farm: The farmer had a Night Heron on his pond for a week, about three weeks ago, possibly the Consols Pond bird. (per V Stratton)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 8 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 8 Mute Swan, 7 Canada Geese, 1 hybrid goose, 5 Mallard, pair of Tufted Duck, 8 Moorhen, 1 Cormorant, 7 Whimbrel, 1 Swift, 60+ Swallow, 20+ Sand Martin, 10+ House Martin, 2 Stonechat, 1 Blackcap, 1 Willow Warbler, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler and 2 Cetti’s Warbler. Porthgwarra: 2 Redstart, 3 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 White Wagtail, 44 Wheatear, 25 Blackcap, 30 Willow Warbler, 3 Chiffchaff, 6 Sedge Warbler, 8 Whitethroat, 50+ Swallow, 10+ Sand Martin, 2 House Martin, 2+ Swift, 2 Bullfinch, 9 Whimbrel and 1 Sandwich Tern. (D Parker, P St Pierre & M Wallace)

Duckpool Valley, near Bude: An early morning visit produced brief, but very good views of aNightingale, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Dipper, Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers in moderate numbers and 4 Blackcap. Also 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 5 Swallow and 5+ Wheatear along the cliffs. A Firecrest reported by a visiting birder at the top of the valley. (H Kendall)Kennal Vale, Ponsanooth: 3 Dipper. (J St Ledger)

Camel Estuary: 60+ Whimbrel, 8 Curlew, 16 Oystercatcher, 1 Redshank, 2 Bar-tailed Godwit (1 summer plumage), atleast 5 Chiffchaff, Green Woodpecker from the Wadebridge-Padstow section of Camel trail at low tide, 14:30-16:00. (D Ricketts)

Half Moon Wood, Stithians: Arrival of Grasshopper Warbler (arrival date in 2011 was 19th April). Also c5 Blackcaps, c4 Willow Warblers, and Chiffchaff, but no Sedge Warblers yet. (G Adams)

Walmsley Sanctuary (CBWPS Members Only): F Blue-winged Teal still this morning. 1 Black-winged Stilt at the back of the reserve (photo) 1 Cattle Egret, 1 Black Tern over, pair of Greylag Geese, 1 Wigeon and 10 Gadwall this evening. (D Julian & C Selway)

Buttermilk Hill, St Ives: 17 Wheatears (9 males and 8 females) these had disappeared from the moors within an hour in the morning. 1 Green Sandpiper on the pool, 1 Black Kite just flew through without stopping and flew East, 1 Cuckoo singing on territory plus a small passage of Swallows. (V Stratton, M Rouncefield, P & J Rutter, J Thomas et al.) This evening, 21 Wheatears (11 males and 10 females) felt to be new birds in. (V Stratton)

Beagletodn Trout Farm: 40+ Willow Warblers, 15+ Chiffchaffs, and 25 Blackcaps, with small groups of four to five in almost every bush, and 1 Sedge Warbler, all the hedgerows were literally crawling with migrants. Also a Jay on the moorlands, 1 ad female Merlin over the hill, a late individual on passage and a Cuckoo singing on territory. (V Stratton)

Gannel Estuary: 3w Iceland Gull again.

Godrevy: 2w Iceland Gull roosting on east side Godrevy Island.

Perranporth: F Ring Ouzel in Penhale Dunes.

Sennen: Hooded Crow in fields east of the cycle track below Trinity Cottages.

Land’s End: Blue-headed Wagtail at Treve Common also a Redstart.
