Late News 19/07 Hayle Estuary RSPB: Colour-ringed Curlew seen in 19/07 and 26/07 was ringed as a breeding male in Steinfurt, Germany on 12/05/2008 and has returned to that area every year up to 2012. (D Parker)

Walmsley Sanctuary (CBWPS Members Only): 60+ Common Swift in the afternoon, plus a juvenile Marsh Harrier, 1s Hobby, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 8 Buzzard, an immature Peregrine Falcon knocked a Moorhen into the water, injuring it in the process though not bothering to retrieve the unfortunate bird, all 8 juvenile Gadwall, 2 Teal, 5 Lapwing, 4 Snipe, 1 Greenshank and 22 Black-headed Gull. Late News 26/07 Walmsley Sanctuary (CBWPS Members Only): Female/immature Marsh Harrier flying at the back of the reserve 19:15 then appeared to drop into small reed bed to the left of the woodpile, no further sign by dusk, 6 juvenile Gadwall, 1 Teal, 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin, 1 Lapwing, 6 Stock Dove and 6 Pied Wagtail. Late News 24/07 Lizard: 32 more Storm Petrels ringed overnight at Hot Point, Lizard. That brings the numbers caught to 84 in three nights now, including the three French-ringed birds. (M Grantham)
