Treraven Meadow: Juvenile Mediterranean Gull in a large flock of Black-headed Gulls at Treraven this morning, also 25+ Teal, Common Sandpiper. Also Little Grebe on the river. (W Delacour)

Walmsley Sanctuary (CBWPS Members Only): 2 large wader groups consisting of mixed shanks, Dunlin, Ruff and Ringed Plover 120+ flew over Walmsley towards Amble at high tide. Birds on the reserve included 1 Little Ringed Plover, 10 Black-tailed Godwit, 10 Snipe, 4 Green Sandpiper, 56 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 1 juv Tufted Duck, Little Grebe (with at least 1 young) 9+ Sedge Warbler (with at least 2 juv ringed) 2 Blackcap and 3 Chiffchaff. Falmouth, Gyllyngvase Beach: 1 Med Gull, 4 Common Tern, 7 Sandwich Tern, 5 Redshank and 8 Oystercatcher on rocks at low tide. (J St Ledger)

Rumps Point: 3 Sanderling, 4 Great Skua, 2 Arctic Skua, 1 Pomarine Skua, 400+ Manx Shearwater, 2 Balearic Shearwater, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 3 Common Guillemot, 1 Razorbill, 29 Shag 8 Cormorant, 300+ Gannet, 1 juv Kittiwake and 100+ Fulmar. Also
30+ Ocean Sunfish, with up to 10 flat on the sea surface and visible at one point, many Gulls and Fulmars attending, presumably removing parasites. (C Selway)

Hayle Estuary RSPB: 3 Pectoral Sandpipers off the causeway early morning still. Still present at 12:45 and 17:30 at least, plus 2w Med Gull, 34 Oystercatcher, 18 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 20 Teal and 3 Wigeon. Also 43 Greylag, 10 hybrid geese, c120 Canada Geese and 20 Black-tailed Godwit on Ryan’s Field and 54 Dunlin, 33 Ringed Plover and 12 Turnstone on Carnsew Spit. (L Proctor, D Flumm & D Parker)

Late News 25/08 Pendeen: 162 Manx Shearwater, 4 Balearic Shearwater, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 2 Storm Petrel, 1112 Northern Gannet (many in large groups), 2 Common Scoter, 7 Whimbrel, 7 Arctic Skua, 1 Pom Skua (a 2s still bearing full spoons flew west at 08:20), 8 Great Skua, 1 juv Kittiwake, 3 Arctic Tern, 3 Rock Pipit and 6 Barn Swallow west between 06:50 & 11:00. Also 824 Manx Shearwater, 6 Balearic Shearwater, 6 Great Shearwater, 2 Cory’s Shearwater, 5 Sooty Shearwater, 6 Common Scoter, 3 Arctic Skua, 8 Great Skua and 1 juv Long-tailed Skua between 12:40 & 15:40. Pendeen: 6 Sooty Shearwater, 7 Balearic Shearwater, 2 Storm Petrel, 10 Bonxie, 1 Pom Skua, 8 Arctic Skua, 13 Sandwich Tern, 3 Arctic Tern, 8 commic tern, 20+ Whimbrel, 10 Turnstone, 6 Ringed Plover and 4 Common Scoter between 06:00 & 11:30. Also 4 Ocean Sunfish 4+ Basking Shark and several Common Dolphin.
