Late News: A colour ringed Black-tailed Godwit (Y8-LY) at Walmsley Sanctuary on 16 07 2012 was ringed as an adult female in N Iceland.

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 5 Grey Heron, 2+ Little Egret, 1+ Cormorant, 4 Mute Swan plus 4 cygnets, 13 Mallard, 5 Teal, 7 ad Moorhen plus 3 juv, 1 Water Rail, 1 Little Grebe, 1  ad Stonechat, 1 Reed Bunting and 3 Cetti’s Warbler. (D Parker)

Porthgwarra: Yellow-browed Warbler in Middle Copse, plus Hobby and Lesser Whitethroat in the village. (M Wallace et al.) 1 Wryneck on the moor by the start of the track to Arden-Sawah at 10:40, 1 Merlin, 1 Peregrine, 2 Kestrel, 2 Sparrowhawk, 5 Chiffchaff, 4+ Blackcap (all males) and 1 Wheatear. Nanjizal: Richard’s Pipit flew south over Faraway Cottage early morning. (M Wallace) Buff-breasted Sandpiper in 2nd field on left along public footpath from Higher Bosistow to Trevilley at 09:30 and still present 14:00 at least. (I Webster et al.) Dotterel in 3rd field on right along public footpath from Higher Bosistow to Trevilley at 11:55 still present mid afternoon, 11 Skylark and 2 Ringed Plover. (D Parker et al.)

Hayle Estuary RSPB: Common Sandpiper on Ryans Field at 11:30. (B Toms)

Stithians Reservoir: 4 Swallow, 1 adult G C Grebe and 1 juvenile G C Grebe at 15:00. (B Toms)

Men-aver Beach, Gillan: 46 Med Gulls this morning, including five colour-ringed birds – two French, one Danish, one Polish and one unable to be read. (M Grantham) One of the French birds, Green R16X is French bird FS72009, ringed as a chick on 15/06/2009 at Oye Plage, Les Huttes d’Oye, Pas-de-Calais (50,59N 2,03E) and has been seen at Gillan Creek on 13/02/2010, back in Pas-de-Calais on 22/04/2011 and then reported by B Hawker at Coverack on 27/09/2012. Botallack: 1 Whinchat (Sennen Cove Birdwatching)

Davidstow Airfield: 1 Curlew Sandpiper and 1 Buff Breasted Sandpiper still.

The Lizard: Juv Red-backed Shrike from footpath in valley to Housel Bay again.

Cot Valley: Yellow-browed Warbler in sycamores by the Youth Hostel entrance at 14:15, also 2 Firecrests.
