Late News 01/10 Men-aver: Details from 2 of yesterdays colour-ringed Med Gulls:
Green 0T0
was ringed (Paris FS95001) as a chick on 18/06/2011 at Barbâtre, Polder de Sebastopol, Vendée, France, and has previously been seen at Towan Beach on 22/09/2011.

White 3P71 was ringed (Copenhagen 6H1568) as a chick on 13/06/2007 at Fiskeholm, Harby, Denmark, and has previously been seen at Gillan Creek on 10/02/2011 and  Men-aver beach on 14/11/2011 and 02/01/2012. (M Grantham)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 3 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 4 Mute Swan plus 4 cygnets, 17 Mallard, 3 Teal, 4 ad Moorhen plus 1 juv, 2 Little Grebe, 1 Snipe and 1 Kingfisher. (D Parker)

Porthgwarra: 1 Great Shearwater at 11:45, also 187 Balearic Shearwater, 222 Sooty Shearwater, 14 Manx Shearwater, 8 Great Skua, 2 Arctic Skua, 3 Red-throated Diver, 1 sum plum Great Northern Diver, 1 Puffin and 1 Bar-tailed Godwit. (D Parker, T Mills et al.)

Sennen: 2 ad Med gulls in ploughed field by Whitesands Lodge. (D Parker)

Penzance: 2 Firecrests at Chyandour Combe. (P St Pierre)

Walmsley Sanctuary: 38 Black-tailed Godwit, 16 Greenshank, 14 Redshank, 1 Knot, 12 Lapwing, 2 juv Grey Plover, 1 Green Sandpiper, 12 Snipe, 6 Curlew, 1 Water Rail, 1 Pintail, 8 Wigeon, 1 Gadwall, 30+ Teal, 2 Jay, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Great-spotted Woodpecker, 1 Stonechat, 8+ Meadow Pipit, 1 Kestrel and a Grey Wagtail. Also a Peregrine Falcon killed one of the extemely tired Grey Plover. (C Selway)

Kenidjack: 1 Firecrest.

The Lizard: Juv Red-backed Shrike from footpath in valley to Housel Bay again.

At Sea: 2 Grey Phalaropes, 1 Balearic Shearwater and 3 Great Skuas from Scillonian III.

Hannafore Point: 13 Balearic Shearwaters, 2 Sooty Shearwaters and a Storm Petrel inside Looe Island between 17:00 and 17:45.
