Late News 30/12 Looe: 3 Slavonian Grebe, 1 Black-throated Diver and 5 Great Northern Divers off Hannafore Point.

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 8 Mute Swan (including 4 juv), 7 Mallard, 12 Teal, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Water Rail, 16 Moorhen, 1 Coot, 6 Oystercatcher and 3 Snipe. (D Parker & A Chard) Otter seen again. (A Chard & C Barnard) Bittern also reported.

Drift Reservoir (Members only): 2 Mute Swan, 43 Mallard, 5 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 18 Tufted Duck, 1 Cormorant, 2 Little Grebe and 1 Little Egret. (D Parker)

Newlyn: Black-necked Grebe, Great Northern Diver and Black Redstart in the harbour, plus Slavonian Grebe still off Sandy Cove. The Great Northern Diver had to be rescued, cutting it free from old rope, netting and weed. It was released in Sandy Cove but went straight back to the harbour apparently none the worse for its misadventure. (L Proctor) Also Great Black-backed Gull feeding on an auk. (S Maycock)

Falmouth, Castle Beach: 1 Black Redstart, 1 Blackcap (female), 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Stonechat, 4 Rock Pipit, 2 Meadow Pipit, 7 Pied Wagtail, 1 Curlew, 1 Little Egret, 9 Oystercatcher, 1 Guillemot (in close to rocks) and a good passage of Gannet in the bay, flying towards Lizard Point. (J St Ledger)
