Late News 07/12 St Ives: 4 Balearic Shearwaters, 5 Great Northern Divers and 2 Great Skuas past the Island.

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 6 Mute Swan (inc 4 juv), 21 Mallard, 43 Teal, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Water Rail, 11 Moorhen, 1 Coot, 3 Oystercatcher, 9 Snipe, 1 Stonechat, 2 Redwing, 2 Song Thrush and 1 Chiffchaff. (D Parker)

Longrock: 4 Waxwings throughout the day in the Darlington Road/Trescoe Road area, also 1 Firecrest and 4+ (1 male) Blackcaps. (D Parker et al.) Pacific Diver present late afternoon but flew out to sea. (M Elliot)

Marazion: Pacific Diver off the Station House early afternoon with 5+ Great Northern Divers. Also 26 Sanderling and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits on the beach and a drake Red-breasted Merganser by Great Hogus. (D Parker)

Wadebridge: 1 Waxwing on West Hill at Chesterton Court at 12:15. (D Julian)

Carrick roads: 17 Black-necked Grebe, 2 Goldeneye, 4 Great Northern Diver, 16 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe and 5 Teal. (D Eva)

Stithians Reservoir: 7 Gadwall, 1 Marsh Tit, 1 Water Rail and 1 Reed Bunting. (D Eva) Also 3 Wigeon, 3 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 7 Mallard, 1 Little Grebe, 5 Water Rail, 3 Moorhen, 8 Coot, 2 Herring Gull, 1 Wood Pigeon, 1 Carrion Crow, 1 Raven, 3 Blue Tit, 2 Great Tit,1 Marsh Tit, 2 Wren, 181 Starling, 4 Blackbird, 22 Redwing, 2 Robin, 2 Dunnock, 3 Chaffinch, 2 Goldfinch and 3 Reed Bunting in the Southern Cut Off. Lower Tamar Lake: 1 Redwing, 1 Goldcrest, 25 Canada’s, 7 Snipe, 1 Heron, 16 Goosanders, 50 Teal, 4 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Bullfinch, Mallard. On the feeders, 3 Nuthatch, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Great Tit and Marsh Tit between 10:30 & 12:00. (R Mudge)

Falmouth: 1 Waxwing at 15:00 at Pennance Road, Falmouth (next to the cemetery, at the crossroads with Spernen Wyn Road), feeding on rowan berries; there were 2 at the same tree at 16:30 and at 16:45 they left towards N. One of the birds had a metal ring on (only metal, unfortunately), both were juveniles. Also 1 Blackcap.at Gyllyngvase Terrace. (R Matias)

Swanpool: 1 Great Crested Grebe, plus 2 Blackcap, 2 Firecrest and 2 Water Rail at Swanvale NR. (R Matias)

Kingsmill Lake: 150 Avocet, 1 Spotted Redshank, 5 Greenshank and 1 Red-breasted Merganser, plus 1 Firecrest on the China Fleet nature trail. (M Beer)

Drift Reservoir (Members Only): 1w Pink-footed Goose still with Greylag and Canada Geese. (Sometimes visible from the car park or the Sancreed road, please park with care.) Also m & f Goldeneye. (S Maycock)

Windmill Farm: Male (sub adult) Marsh Harrier, 100+ Redwing, 2 Fieldfare and 3 Snipe. (D Wright)

Maer Lake: 1 Barn Owl, 500+ Golden Plover, 200+ Lapwing , 50+ Curlew, 20+ Oystercatcher, 400+ Canada Goose, 4 Greylag Goose, 12+ Teal, 12+ Wigeon,10+ Goldfinch, 300+ Starling, 6 Snipe, 20+ Mallard and 1 Little Grebe. (C & B Travis)

Falmouth, Gyllyngvase Beach: 9 Ringed Plover (one with silver ring on right leg), 11 Turnstone.

Falmouth, Pendennis Point: 2 Med Gull, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Curlew, 5 Purple Sandpiper, 1 Turnstone, 9 Oystercatcher and 2 Pied Wagtail. (J St Ledger)

Lower Porthpean: 1 Black-throated Diver and 2 Great Northern Divers.

St Austell: Water Pipit at Spit Beach at 08:00 plus Black Redstart and 10 Great Northern Divers.

Penzance: 2 Black Redstarts (1 male) on rocks by the railway station and 1 Black Redstart in the Harbour.

St Just: Subalpine Warbler still in gardens briefly on Princess Street TR19 7JG. Please respect the residents privacy.
