Late News 13/01 St Keverne: A Woodcock (named Busy) radio tagged on the Lizard on 17/12/2012 has returned from a summer in Lithuania via the Isle of Wight in late October 2012. A round trip of over 5500 km. More information here. (M Grantham)

St Ives Bay: 6 Balearic Shearwater (4 Intermediate, 2 pale), 1 Red throated Diver, 3 Great Northern Diver, 480 Gannet (all adult apart from 3 yr2), 2 Med Gull (all adult winter), 2 Lesser blacked backed Gull, 3 Fulmar, 500 Razorbill, 1 Eider (female), 4 Common Scoter and 2 Turnstone between 08:30-16:00. Falmouth Bay: 2 Red-necked Grebe (one at the Pendennis end, one at Swanpool end) first thing, 1 Slavonian Grebe off Swanpool plus 2 Great Northern Diver and 2 Razorbill. 5 Rock Pipit at Castle Beach. 7+ Long-tailed Tit near the end of Pendennis Point. Carnon Downs Sewage Works: 30+ Chiffchaff, 1 possible Siberian Chiffchaff (not heard calling), 8+ Goldcrest, 6+ Reed Bunting , Grey Wagtail , plus c200 Chaffinch and 5 Linnet in the flower field across the road. (D Chaney)
