Late News 27/02 Church Farm, The Lizard: Short-eared Owl picked up injured and taken to the Screech Owl Sanctuary. (A Pay) It has now been to the vets and had an x-ray and sadly has a very badly broken wing which cannot be fixed enough for the bird to be able to be released. All is not lost as the owl will be given a home at the Screech Owl Sanctuary with the resident pair Henry and Stella. (M Whittaker)

Late News 27/02 Hayle Estuary RSPB: Water Pipit still on the saltmarsh east of the Black Road, Copperhouse. Also 1 brownhead Goosander, 6 (5 ad & 1 2nd W.) Mediterranean Gull. (C Barnard)

Late News 27/02 Stithians Reservoir: 1w drake Long-tailed Duck still from the southern causeway.

Marazion Marsh RSPB:  5 Mute Swan (including 1 immature),  2 Greylag, 2 Canada Geese, 1 hybrid goose, 7 Mallard, 28 Teal, fem Gadwall, 1 Bittern, 1 Little Egret, 15 Grey Heron, 6 Little Grebe, 16 Moorhen, 1 Water Rail, 2 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 14 Snipe, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Reed Bunting and 3 Cetti’s Warbler. Marazion: Red-throated Diver offshore towards Long Rock. (D Parker) Strong movement of Black-headed gulls with at least 1,000 birds passing through between 10:00 and 13:00. associated with these were at least 15 Med Gulls including several pristine summer adults. Also a drake Gadwall flew into the bay from the sea at about 12:30. (P Fraser & C Barnard)
