Breeding records, Mullion Island: 95 Great Black-backed Gulls with only two chicks left. Perhaps as few as 10-15 survived from over 100 eggs/chicks originally counted. Rinsey Cliff: Kittiwakes also failed, with only five birds laying, all failing. This compares to over 65 mostly successful pairs last year. Birds doing better at Trewavas Head though, with two small colonies totalling around 70 pairs, mostly with small broods of chicks (note that these aren’t birds from Rinsey though). (M Grantham)
