Late news, 8/5, Scillonian, Lands End to Penzance: 3 Puffin, 223 Manx Shearwater, 49 Gannet, 18 Guillemot, 2 Razorbill, 5 Fulmar, 55 unidentified distant auks 55. Virtually all the shearwaters and other seabirds were heading West along the coast. Surprised to see several large groups of up to 10 auks together flying in a tight string of birds. Also 2 small waders rapidly passed the boat probably a mile+ offshore also heading West. Mounts Bay: 1 Great Northern Diver. Battery Rocks: 9 Purple Sandpiper (feeding, resting and preening) , 2 Whimbrel on the small island, 2 Turnstone and 1 Grey Heron flew past. Penzance: 2 Swift. Cotehele: 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Swift, 1 House Martin and 1 Swallow. (J Cole)

Penlee Battery NR: 9 Manx Shearwater, 1 Guillemot and c50 Gannet. (C Ellis)

Rame Head: 1 Black Throated Diver (in Polhawn Bay),1 Great Northern Diver, 1 Fulmar and c30 Gannet. (C Ellis)

Porthgwarra: 2 Canada Geese, 1 Arctic Skua and 3 Puffin flew west plus Manx Shearwaters, auks (mostly Guillemot), Fulmars and Gannets passing continually in low numbers. (DK Parker)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 4 Mute Swan with 7 cygnets, 3 Greylag with 6 goslings, 2 hybrid geese, 1 Little Egret, 12 Grey Heron, 5 Moorhen, 1 Common Sandpiper, c10 Swift, 3 Swallow, 4 Cetti’s Warbler and 2 Chiffchaff plus Sedge and Reed Warblers. (DK Parker + R Farnes)

Falmouth, Pendennis Point: 10 Great Northern Diver, 1 Black Throated Diver, 7 Kittiwake, 70+ distant Manx Shearwater and 1 Sandwich Tern, also 3 Linnet and 1 Whitethroat. Swanpool: 6 Sandwich Terns and 2 Reed Warbler singing. Gorrangorras: 2 Whimbrel. (D Chaney)
