Late news, 8/4, St Gothian Sands NR: 2 Swallow, 3 Chiffchaff, 2 Stonechat, 1 Ruff, 1 Skylark, 14 Canada Geese, 2 Shelduck, 2 Mute Swan, 6 Linnet, 25+ Sand Martin, 4 Raven, 2 Meadow Pipit, 6+ Wheatear (one killed by Sparrowhawk), 80+ Herring Gull, 1 Coot, 6 Mallard, 2 Moorhen, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 m Gadwall, 3+ Buzzard, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Kestrel, 1 Goldfinch, Dunnock, 1 Teal, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Carrion Crow, 4 Great Black-backed Gull, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Rock Pipit (displaying), 6+ Jackdaw and 1 Peregrine. Offshore were: 10+ Shag, 2 Turnstone, 2 Guillemot, 1 Kittiwake and a Sandwich Tern. Penzance, Mermaid II pelagic, 3pm – 5pm:  ! Great Northern Diver, 1 Common Tern, 5+ Sandwich Tern, 2 Shelduck, few auks and Manx Shearwater plus lots of Barrel Jellyfish.

Sennen Cove: 4 Little Egret in off the sea and over east this evening. (Sennen Cove Birdwatching)

Nanquidno Downs area: 1 m Ring Ouzel, 1 possible Purple Heron in flight, seemed to land by pool at 1130. White Wagtails in the Tregiffian and Gurland area. (Sennen Cove Birdwatching)

Redruth: 1 Hoopoe in garden off Park Road.

Amalveor/Foage: 3+ Ring Ouzel in fields at top of valley, also Wheatear and Skylark. (R Menari)

Porthtowan: 1 Red Kite drifted inland at 11.40, on the Head 2 Ring Ouzel (m + f), 2 Wheatear, 6 Swallow, 2 House Martin, 3 Sand Martin, 2 Chiffchaff and offshore 50 Common/Arctic Terns flew west. (T Wilson)
