Ringing Report: A busy 24hrs saw ringing of Great Black-backed Gull chicks on Mullion Island, Storm Petrels at Hot Point near The Lizard village and Sand Martins at Gunwalloe. Full report here. (West Cornwall Ringing Group)

Falmouth Bay, AK Wildlife Cruise: 50 Manx Shearwater, 100 Gannet, 2 Fulmar (immature), 1 Puffin, 150 Guillemot (including 2 “bridled” on Gull Rock to the east of Gerrans Bay), 50 Razorbill, 1 Common Tern, 1 Great Skua, 3 Kestrel, 1 m Peregrine, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 100 Shag, 40 Cormorant and Great Black-backed Gulls + Lesser Black-backed Gull. Also 5 Grey Seal, 50 Barrel Jellyfish and 5 Compass Jellyfish. (S van Hear)

Trevose Head, Porthcothan: 1 Woodchat Shrike, along the coastal footpath north of Porthcothan Bay; take the footpath off the B3276 for 200m then fork right to view scrub after 100m.

Hayle Estuary RSPB Reserve, Ryan’s Field: 1 Kingfisher. (Sennen Cove Birdwatching) Estuary: 1 2cy Ring-billed Gull still.

Polgigga: 1 Hoopoe again on the cricket pitch.

Bosigran: 3+ Grasshopper Warbler, 6 Linnet, 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff, 6 Wren (Family group, 4 Stonechat, 1 Buzzard, 1 Cuckoo (heard), 1 Tawny Owl,(heard), 4 Whitethroat and 3 Carrion Crow. (B Toms)
