Late news, 25/8, Porthgwarra: 1 possible Yelkouan Shearwater and 1 possible Barolo Shearwater.

Kingsmill Lake: 7 Ruff and 3 Knot this morning. (M Beer)

Hayle Estuary RSPB Reserve, Lelant Saltings: 2 Little Stint, 2 Knot and 1 Bar-tailed Godwit. ( D Eva) Also 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 1 Common Sand, 6 Wigeon and Teal15. (B Mellow) Plus 1 Osprey.  15.15-16.15. caught small fish. (I Webster, D Parker) And also 1 Sparrowhawk taking a Common Sandpiper and 1 Peregrine failing to take a Greenshank. Carbis Bay, Porthkidney Sands: 24 Little Tern [this is the biggest flock I have seen in Cornwall] 8 Black Tern, 45 Sandwich Tern, 40 Common Tern and 5 Arctic Tern all being chased by a dark phase Arctic Skua. (B Mellow)

Stithians Reservoir: 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Whimbrel and 1 Greenshank. (J St Ledger)

Porthgwarra: 39 Cory’s Shearwater, 2 Great Shearwater, 1 Pomarine Skua, 49 Balearic Shearwater, 2 Sooty Shearwater and 2 Arctic Tern past.

Rame Head: 177 Balearic Shearwater past.

Gannel Estuary: 1 Ruff, 13 Whimbrel and 19 Dunlin. (S Rowe)

Towan Head: 1 Balearic Shearwater and 2 Sandwich Tern. (S Rowe)

Kynance Cove:  53 Cory’s Shearwater, also Balearic Shearwater and Sooty Shearwater.

Porthgwarra, (06.15 – 20.30): 1 Long-tailed Skua, 57 Cory’s Shearwater, 3 Great Shearwater, 103 Balearic Shearwater, 6 Sooty Shearwater, 1 Pomarine Skua, 32 Arctic Tern and 32 Storm Petrel.

Lizard Point (16.30 – 18.00): 6 Great Shearwater, 9 Cory’s Shearwater and 6 Sooty Shearwater.
