Late news, 12/5, Stithians Reservoir: 1 Black Tern.
West Penwith: 1 Dalmatian Pelican again; first reported in the Skewjack/Polgigga area from about 8.30am and then also later at about 10.45 after which it was further east at Catchall at about 11.05, then over Drift Reservoir and Sancreed by 11.30 where it spent 3 -4 hours flying around the area. Unfortunately its visit at Drift today coincided with a major fishing competition and there were fishermen in inflatable buoyancy rings spread across the entire reservoir – this probably put off the pelican from landing amongst them. (D Flumm) Later in the afternoon it was reported back west near St Buryan before again heading east to Drift Reservoir. It was finally seen perched on a post near Lamorna Cove from the Scillonian on her return to Penzance. (D Flumm, R Veal, F Currie, M&F Jones et al)
