Late news, 27/7, Sennen Cove: Green-ringed juvenile Mediterranean Gulls RP7E & ROCK both ringed 1st July 2017 at Barbatre, Polder de Sebastopol. Green-ringed juvenile Mediterranean Gull RT88 also ringed 1st July 2017 at Marais de la Pinardiere on Isle Noirmoutior. The 5 green-ringed Med Gulls seen here since 30th July form part of over 1000 juveniles ringed the same day on the Noirmoutior Peninsular on the west coast of France, south of Saint Nazaire. Late news, 28/8, Cheesewring Quarry: 1 Black Redstart, 2 Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Tree Pipit, 6 Meadow Pipit, 6 Northern Wheatear, 5 Grey Wagtail and a large mixed flock of hirundines, mainly House Martin. (R Hollis)

Porthgwarra Cove (seawatch 06:40-09:10): 44 Sooty Shearwater, 9 Balearic Shearwater, 2 Storm Petrel, 7 Bonxie, 1 Sandwich Tern, 2 Common Tern, 1 Commic Tern, 2 Med Gull, c80 Kittiwake.  Thousands Manx Shearwaters & hundreds Gannets feeding up to a mile offshore and inshore flocks of Herring, Great & Lesser-black Backed Gulls taking sprat by simply upending. Also 1 Minke Whale, pod 5 Harbour Porpoise & 35 Common Dolphin in pods 5, 8, 10 & 12. Stannon Pit to Rough Tor, Bodmin Moor: 30+ Golden Plover, 4 in summer plumage. 30+ Wheatear, 60+ Meadow Pipits, 12 Linnet, 4 Raven, 6 Buzzard, 3 Kestrel, 2 Painted Lady, 6 Tortoiseshell, 8 Red Admiral, 3 Peacock, 2 Small Copper, 10 Speckled Wood. (D Thomas)

Rock, Porthilly Point: 101 Mediterranean Gull, 207 Oystercatcher, 32 Sandwich Tern, 2 Sand Martin still feeding young in nesting burrow. (S Grose)

Land’s End: c2,500 Gannet, c15,000 Manx Shearwater feeding and resting on the sea with c6 Sooty Shearwater and 1 Great Skua mixed in. Also 2, probably 3 Minke Whale regularly breaching and showing well not far offshore, surprisingly no other cetaceans seen. (P&H Taylor, R&I Archer, DK Parker)

Sennen: 31 Common Tern, 2 Arctic Tern, 1 Roseate Tern (adult) and 3 Sandwich Tern on Cowloe. (DK Parker)

Rame Head: 15 Yellow Wagtail, in one flock feeding around the neck area, 2 Wheatear,1 Peregrine, 2 Kestrel. (C Buckland, M Beer)

Gulval: Female Peafowl with 3 small young. Max count recently has been 7 together and there are also two older young, which may have been the result of an early brood this year. Current estimate of the local population is stable at about 20 individuals. (M Spicer)
