Hayle Estuary RSPB: 1 ad Bonaparte’s Gull briefly at Old Quay bridge this afternoon before flying towards St Erth with Black-headed Gulls. (P Roseveare)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 1 Purple Heron again. (L Proctor) Also 1 m Garganey, 2 Gadwall, 1 Buzzard, several singing Cetti’s Warbler, few singing Sedge Warbler, c65 Whimbrel over (2 flocks, c50 + 15). (T Mills, D Eva) Afternoon: Purple Heron north of reserve in conifers then flew down out of sight (around 16.00) but believed to be still north of rail line. Drake Garganey asleep on island in front of observation area.
