Late news, 5/5, Lizard Point: 67 species seen, highlights included 1 Arctic Skua, 2 Black-throated Diver, 11 Great Northern Diver, 1 Balearic Shearwater, 8 Common Scoter, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Red Kite, 2 Swift, 2 Yellow Wagtail. (T Blunden)

Red Kite Day 2018: Whilst over the last couple of weeks we’ve had odd sightings of Red Kite, today numbers increased dramatically. Started with a late report from yesterday with 4 Red Kites at Boyton heading south to Launceston. (R Loy). St.Austell: 5 Red Kites flew over this morning at 9.15 am. (C Hooper) 2 Red Kite over Truro Station at 10.15. (R Augarde) At 10.45 1 Red Kite over Trevenen. (P Reynolds) 5 Red Kites over Treviglas school in Newquay at 10.40 am. (D Grose) 7 Red Kite over Goldsithney and 2 over Boscastle (P Tillsley) at 11.30. (R Nicholls) Polgigga, Red Kites seem to accumulate her for a while, 4 at 12.30; 13 at 13.20; then 19, then 41 at 13.30. Red Kites (S & P Rogers, M Wallace, D.Beadle, S.Ellis) then drifted back east.  Hayle, Ventonleague 19 Red Kites moving East from 14-45pm – 15.35pm, including 10 together at 15.20pm. Colliford Lake: 1 probable Woodchat Shrike.(N McBreen)

Treveal Cove: 1 Nightingale heard and 1 Lesser Whitethroat.

Rame Head: 1 singing Wood Warbler.

Marazion beach: 1 Grey Plover, 20 Dunlin, 5 Sanderling, 3 Ringed Plover, 1 Sandwich Tern, 2 Mediterranean Gull.  (S & P Rogers) Evening: 12 Sanderling, 11 Dunlin, 3 Turnstone, 5 Ringed Plover with 2 Sandwich Tern offshore. (J Hawkey)

Croft Pascoe/Goonhilly: 1 Cuckoo, 4 Siskin, 5 Willow Warbler, 3 Garden Warbler,  2 Chiffchaff, 3 Swallow, 2 Linnet, 1 Red Kite, 1 Buzzard (S Van Hear)

Lands End:  1 Barn Owl hunting. 1 Sedge Warbler ( B.Toms, M Curtis)

Sennen: 1 Carrion/Hooded Crow hybrid. (M Ahmad)

Par Beach Pool: 1 Little Grebe, 2 House Martin, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, 3 Chiffchaff. (S Grose)

Porth Reservoir: 1 Red Kite, 1 pr of Great Crested Grebe with 2 young. 1 Kingfisher, 1 Mistle Thrush. (S Grose)

Tresemple Pool: 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Whimbrel. Chiffchaff, Wren, Blackbird and Woodpigeon all nesting (D Eva)

St Erth: 4 Whimbrel over. (MJ Spicer)

Perranporth Dunes: 2 Red Kite W @ 10.20 + Yellow Wagtail, Wheatear, Lesser Whitethroat and 5 Common Whitethroats (T Wilson)

Caradon Hill: 4 Wheatear seen near the summit, 3 males 1 female, (at least 2 of the males looked like Greenlanders). (D Cleal)

Lanner: Cuckoo calling 7pm (R Hampshire)

Dennis Head on Helford River:  1 Lesser Whitethroat singing all day. (T Pinfield)
