Late news 18/10, Porthcurno: 1 Black Redstart (roof of old coastguard cottages) at c 3.30. Male Firecrest, male Blackcap (plus many other passerines) in the sycamores in the corner of the carpark below the museum 5 – 5.30 pm. (P Carter)

Hayle Estuary RSPB:  1 Great White Egret til 1230 only, 10 Little Egret, 1 Spoonbill (on Ryan’s Field to 1400), 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Bar-tailed Godwit, 4 Greenshank, 53 Redshank , 3 Common Gull and 38 Mediterranean Gull.
