Lamorna, MV Mermaid II pelagic pm: 2 Wilson’s Petrel, 6 Great Shearwater, 2 Balearic Shearwater, 1 juv Black Tern, 40 Storm Petrel, 5km south of Lamorna this evening.

Penlee Point, 05:45 – 08:45: 400+ Manx Shearwater, 32 Common Scoter, 5 Fulmar, 2 Turnstone,1 large Shearwater sp., 6 Sabine’s Gull (5 juv accompanied by summer plumaged adult) all heading towards Rame Head together very close inshore. Numbers of House Martins and Swallows heading south, and 3 small pods of Common Dolphin, two  pods heading towards the sound, one very close Sunfish. (C Buckland)

Hayle Estuary, Ryan’s Field: 17 Mediterranean Gull, 2 Sandwich Tern, 64 Curlew, 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Kingfisher. Carnsew Pool: 5 Common Sandpiper, 2 Wheatear. (S Grose)

Penzance Promenade and Harbour: 5 Turnstone, 1 ad Mute Swan, 1 Cormorant, (WeBS at high tide 08.00). Tolcarne Beach: 19 Turnstone, 1 moulting ad Dunlin, 2 Cormorant, 1 Shag. (T Mills)

Newquay Towan Head: Black-necked or Slavonian Grebe off point but too distant for positive id (unusual time of year for either). Male Common Scoter again close in. (M Lammas)

Drift Reservoir (members only): 1 Greylag Goose, 24 Canada Goose, 1 hybrid goose, 1 Muscovy Duck, 1 Teal, 41 Mallard, 1 Tufted Duck, 6 Cormorant, 6 Great Crested Grebe (including 2 young), 3 Buzzard, 5 Moorhen (including 1 young), 3 Common Sandpiper, 12 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 121 Herring Gull, 3 Great Black-backed Gull and 1 Kingfisher. Downderry: 133 Manx Shearwater, 26 Balearic Shearwater, 1 Great Skua and 4 Common Scoters flew west. Also at least two distant petrels between 07:00-08:30. (A Payne)

Helston, Loe Pool: 12 (2 juv) Great Crested Grebe, 14+ (3+juv) Willow Warbler, 13+ Goldcrest. Also 2 Wheatear and 10 Sand Martins going into nests just West of Loe bar. (R Veal)

St John’s Lake: 60+ Curlew, 50+ Oystercatcher,1 sum plum Bar-tailed Godwit, 4 Med Gull, 3 Sandwich Tern, 7 Grey Heron, 2 Little Egret, 3 Whimbrel, 19 Redshank and a few Black-headed Gull. (C Buckland)

Marazion: 53 Ringed Plover, 12 Turnstone, 4 Dunlin and 3 Sanderling on the beach this evening. (DK Parker)

Lizard Point: 3+ Great Shearwater, 1 Cory’s Shearwater, 4 Balearic Shearwater, 8 Sooty Shearwater and 5 Storm Petrel between 06:45 & 10:30.

Porthgwarra: 3 Great Shearwater, 2 Sooty Shearwater and 1 Storm Petrel between 15:00 and 16:30.
