Drift Reservoir (members only): Drake Lesser Scaup still opposite the hide at 4pm though it disappeared from view shortly after this. Marsh Harrier flew over NW arm. Also 1 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Greenshank, 1 juv Dunlin,1 Snipe but no sign of the Pectoral Sandpiper. (A Hartley)

Hayle Estuary RSPB Reserve: 1 juv. Yellow-legged Gull, 2 Lapwing, 6 Dunlin, 5 Ringed Plover, 1 Whimbrel. (P St Pierre). Also 5 Common Sandpiper on Ryan’s Field.

Pendeen 07.00-09.00: 1 Balearic Shearwater, 1 Sooty Shearwater and 1 juv Mediterranean Gull. (G Taylor). 14.00 – 16.00: 6 Balearic Shearwater and 1 Sooty Shearwater reported. Also 9 juv/1w Med Gulls lingering off the lighthouse this morning. (A Hartley)

Red Kite Day 2018: Whilst over the last couple of weeks we’ve had odd sightings of Red Kite, today numbers increased dramatically. Started with a late report from yesterday with 4 Red Kites at Boyton heading south to Launceston. (R Loy). St.Austell: 5 Red Kites flew over this morning at 9.15 am. (C Hooper) 2 Red Kite over Truro Station at 10.15. (R Augarde) At 10.45 1 Red Kite over Trevenen. (P Reynolds) 5 Red Kites over Treviglas school in Newquay at 10.40 am. (D Grose) 7 Red Kite over Goldsithney and 2 over Boscastle (P Tillsley) at 11.30. (R Nicholls) Polgigga, Red Kites seem to accumulate her for a while, 4 at 12.30; 13 at 13.20; then 19, then 41 at 13.30. Red Kites (S & P Rogers, M Wallace, D.Beadle, S.Ellis) then drifted back east.  Hayle, Ventonleague 19 Red Kites moving East from 14-45pm – 15.35pm, including 10 together at 15.20pm. Mullion Cove: 2 Goldfinch, 2 Bullfinch and 3 Swallow. (J Allely)
