Late News, 14/2 St Austell: A Jack Snipe shot on the 14/2 at St Austell had been ringed as a juvenile in August 2007 in Burgstadt, Sachhsen, Germany, more information here. The only previous Jack Snipe recovery in the county was a Dutch-ringed bird found dead at Michaelstow in January 1994. (per M Grantham)

Walmsley Sanctuary (CBWPS Members Only):6 Tufted Duck, 10 Pintail (5 male and 5 female), 10 Gadwall, Teal, Shoveler, large flock of Wigeon and also Lapwing, Curlew, 5 Black-tailed Godwit, Coot, Moorhen, Little Grebe, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard and a female Merlin that was present for several hours using the fence posts and raptor posts to dart out after prey (unsuccessfully), Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail Chiffchaff, Grey Heron, Little Egret and Canada Geese.
