Bude Marshes: 14 Mallard, 1 Mute Swan (but pair proabably nesting in the reedbeds), 1 Grey Heron, 6 adult Moorhen and 2 juveniles, 15+ Swallow, 3 Chaffinch, 3 Reed Warbler, 7 Sedge Warbler, 1 pair of Reed Bunting, 4 Herring Gull, 4 Blackbird, 2 Magpie, 2 Blackcap, 3 Chiffchaff, 1 Cetti’s Warbler, 2 Dunnock, 10+ Rook active in nearby rookery. Late news, 20/5, Hannafore Point: 18 Turnstone, 8 Sanderling, 7 Dunlin (several of these waders in breeding plumage). 7 of the Turnstones towards dusk spiralled up before heading N and overland at several hundred feet. 1 female Grey Seal about 80m offshore. (R Hurrell)
