Late news, 31/8, Downderry: Birds moving west 06:35-08:40 included 550+ Gannets, 240+ Manx Shearwaters, 2 Balearic Shearwaters, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Sandwich Terns, 1 Great Skua, 2 Common Scoters and 1 Whimbrel. (A Payne)

Drift Reservoir (members only): 1 Osprey still present at 10.30 unsuccessfully hunting fish; 3 Swift; 60+ Swallow & House Martins (mixed), 1 Greenshank & 2 Common Sandpiper disturbed by lone fisherman. West bank covered in Devil Spit which had more Small Tortoiseshell & Painted Lady butterflies than I have seen anywhere else this year. Also single Comma & 3 Common Blue. (J Hawkey)
