“Hungary for Birds” at this year’s AGM?

Don’t miss this year’s Cornwall Birds Annual General Meeting, which will be held at Lanhydrock Memorial Hall on Wednesday 15th August.

The official CBWPS business will be followed by “Hungary for Birds” – a presentation by renowned local photographers David Chapman and Adrian Langdon. Both Dave and Adrian are well known for their superb photos of birds and other wildlife and this talk will showcase their recent trip to Hungary with its wealth of birdlife. All members and guests are welcome, and this is a rare opportunity to get a free showing of the work of two of our best photographers, with a fair bit of humour thrown in.

The AGM starts at 7.00pm (full details on the back page of this Palores) and Lanhydrock Memorial Hall is easily accessible as it is five minutes from the A30 and between Bodmin and St Austell. No excuse not to be there!

The full AGM Notice can be found in the Members’ Area.

Sensitive Data: Now that the breeding season is with us again, we are resuming our policy of witholding reports of sensitive breeding (and potential breeding) birds. Where appropriate, we will endeveavour to release news of “interesting” birds, but our first duty is to protect the birds themselves. Please keep sending in your reports, even though they will not appear on the website, as they will still go into the county database and thus be available for the annual report, research and conservation. Thanks for your understanding.

The Society offers its condolences to family and friends. Vic’s funeral will take place at Penmount Crematorium on August 13th at 2pm.

The funeral for Brian Field has been arranged for 11 am on Wednesday 8th August at Penmount Crematorium, Newquay Road, Truro. TR4 9AA. All who knew Brian are welcome to attend; dress code is smart but casual.
