Late news, 30/10, Polgigga: 1 Short-toed Lark & 2 Lapland Buntings in field W of path between Bosistow & Higher Bosistow farms. Possible Sykes’s Wagtail (beema) briefly on roof of Higher Bosistow farm, also 2 Black Redstarts.

Hayle Estuary RSPB: 1 Franklin’s Gull on the estuary from the bridge 15.50 to 16:00, when it flew off south, 143 Golden Plover and 1 Curlew Sandpiper from same spot earlier (B Field) 1 Cattle Egret. Cot Valley-Boscregan Farm: birds moving south-east 07:30-11:30: 835+ Chaffinch, 5 Siskin, 1 Crossbill, 3 Reed Bunting, 560+ Starling, 40+ Skylark, c80 Fieldfare, 6 Redwing, 3+ Mistle Thrush and 6 Stock Dove. Also seen: female/juvenile Hen Harrier (north at 08:43), 1 Merlin, 2 Woodlark, 1 Yellow-browed Warbler, 2 Firecrest, 1 Whinchat and 1 Black Redstart (in St Just). (N Wheatley)
