Late News 12/10 Hayle Estuary RSPB: Wryneck on path from Ryan’s Field to the causeway bridge.

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 1 Bittern, 5 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 4 Mute Swan plus 4 cygnets, 21 Mallard, 1 Aylesbury Duck, 9 Teal, 15 ad & 1 juv Moorhen, 2 Little Grebe, 2+ Water Rail, flock of 18 Skylark over, c30 Meadow Pipit, 2 Stonechat, 1 Chiffchaff and 2+ Cetti’s Warbler. Pendeen: 1 Pied Flycatcher still in Boscaswell stores copse. (A Hartley) Also a report of a Snow Bunting on coast path south of the Coastguards Cottages.

Stithians Reservoir: 2 Blue Tit, 1 Great Tit, 10 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Robin, 3 Wren, 10 Coot, 2 Wigeon, 2 Teal, 4 Carrion Crow, 1 Little Grebe, 2 Raven, 1 Woodpigeon, 2 Buzzard from the Southern Cut Off (feeding station set up temporarily pending full restoration next weekend, all food donations welcome). 2 Great Crested Grebe (1 ad+ 1 juv),  1 Med Gull  (adult), 6 Cormorant, 4 Wigeon, 3 Tufted Duck, 1 Wren, 8 Coot, 8 Little Grebe, 48 Herring Gull and 10 Black-headed Gull from the Stuart Hutchings hide. Lizard: Yellow-browed Warbler still at Pistil Meadows.

Nanquidno: Ring ouzel at bottom of the valley.

Kenidjack: Yellow-browed Warbler and Firecrest in trees by the donkey paddock.

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 7 Grey Heron, 3+ Little Egret, 2 Cormorant, 4 Mute Swan plus 4 cygnets, 13 Mallard, 4 Teal, 4 ad Moorhen plus 5 juv, 30+ Curlew over,  5 House Martin, c30 Swallow, 2  Stonechat, 3 Reed Bunting, 1 Firecrest, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Chiffchaff, 2 Cetti’s Warbler and 3 Reed Warbler. Late News 16/09 Kynance: Wryneck on the bridleway, c300m SE of Kynance Cove.

Late News 16/09 Feock: Osprey on the west side of River Fal, NE of Feock at Smugglers Inn.

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 6 Grey Heron, 2 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 5 Mute Swan plus 4 cygnets, 3 Mallard, 5 ad Moorhen plus 10 young, 1 juv Stonechat, 1 Cetti’s Warbler and Sedge Warblers. (D Parker) Spotted Crake reported again from the standing stone.

Land’s End: Honey Buzzard drifted south at 09:05, also 1 Whinchat, 1 Wheatear, 2 Stonechat, c50 Meadow Pipit and 2 Curlew along the cycle track. (D Parker)

Cot Valley: Barred Warbler in Cot Valley, half way down the valley.  It showed briefly in the bracken by the small Sycamore at 11:14 and then flew west down the valley but unfortunately couldn’t be relocate. (P & W Hadfield)

Roseland, Prisk Cove: 1 Whimbrel, 30 White Wagtail, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Peregrine, 4 Wheatear, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Curlew, 8 Turnstone, 27 Oystercatcher, 2 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Rock Pipit, 1 Buzzard, 4 Stonechat, 20+ Linnet and 2 Small Copper butterflies. (J St Ledger)

Hayle Estuary RSPB: 1 Grey heron, 2 Little Egret, 8 Teal,  17 Redshank, 60 Curlew, 10 Bar-tailed Godwit and Grey Wagtail on Ryan’s Field. 80 Teal, 4 Med Gull and 4 Bar-tailed Godwit on Lelant Water. 1 Med Gull, 7 Dunlin and 2 Bar-tailed Godwit in Carnsew Basin. (D Flumm)

Falmouth: Pendennis this morning, plenty of Gannet flying west over a calm sea and a couple of Razorbill in flight too. 10+ Swallow over the Castle, with 9 Oystercatchers roosting below the point. Another 10 Oystercatchers at Castle Beach; a Sanderling and 2 Ringed Plover (1 with a gammy leg) at Gyllyngvase plus 2 adult Med Gulls and 3 Turnstone flew towards Swanpool. Rock Pipits and Pied Wagtails on the various beaches too. (D Chaney)

Swanpool: c20 Swallow up by the golf course, and 2 Whimbrel flew up from the rocks. (D Chaney)

Argal Reservoir: 5 Great Crested Grebe, 85 Herring Gull, c20 House Martin, 3 Chiffchaff singing, 2 Willow Warbler, 1 Whitethroat, 6 Curlew in field and 1 Grey Wagtail. (D Chaney)

College Reservoir: 12 Mute Swan (including the 8 young), 4 Mallard, 5 Wigeon, 3 Moorhen, 2 Coot, 60+ Herring Gull, 2 Grey Heron, 6 Cormorant and 1 Nuthatch heard. Also 1-200 House Sparrows briefly at a roadside puddle. (D Chaney)
