Late News, 23/10, Fowey Offshore: five miles off coast Short-eared Owl harassed by two Herring Gulls heading towards Dodman Point. Also, 30+ Common Dolphin,1 Portugese Man o’war jellyfish. (R Kirkwood)

Windmill Farm, Lizard: Upland Sandpiper accidentally flushed from the big pool and  flew off strongly south this afternoon. No sign since and search has been extended to the surrounding farmland and heathland. (D Wright) This is an extremely sensitive site, on no account park in the access track and please keep speed down to an absolute minimum.

Davidstow: We have been asked to re emphasise that cars should not go onto the active runways. Apparently there was an incident yesterday. Also cars are not insured once they enter onto the airstrip. Cape Cornwall: Lapland Bunting on golf course from Carn Gloose with 200+ Meadow Pipits and 50+ Linnet. All flew off when female Merlin flew scattered the flock. (M Scott-Ham)
