Late news, 20/8, Gwennap Head:  7 Choughs flying together along the coast edge towards Nanjizal at around 15:30 then returned approx 30 mins later meeting abruptly with 2 further Choughs which produced a short-lived ‘skirmish’ before they divided into their original groups and continued on their way in two directions.  Clouded Yellow Butterfly feeding on Bird’s Foot Trefoil (at Porth Loe). Also at Gwennap Head: 1 Whimbrel, many Gannets, 2 Buzzards, Stonechats, Cormorants, Fulmars, large groups (10+) of Jackdaws, larger flocks of Linnets (20+) feeding on seedheads in coast edge scrub (M Claughton, O Roe)

Late news, 20/08, Meadway, East Looe: 1 Swift over at 20.00 (C&J Duffy)

Nanjizal: 301 birds ringed. Including 161 Sedge Warbler (+ 2 controls), 8 Grasshopper Warbler, 3 Garden Warbler, 42 Whitethroat, 9 Reed Warbler, 21 Willow Warbler, 5 Chiffchaff, 19 Blackcap. Also Convolvulus Hawk Moth in net. Tawny Pipit, 2 flava wag and c.17 Tree Pipit also seen. Please keep to public rights of way. (K Wilson)

Downderry: This evening (1850-1950) many Gannets and Manx Shearwaters feeding offshore. A raft of Manx numbered at least 120, among them the odd Balearic Shearwater. Also present a few Kittiwakes and one Mediterranean Gull. A party of 4 Arctic Skuas moved west at 1930. (A Payne)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 100+ swallows (mainly juveniles) over the marsh coming in to roost at 20:45. (J Hawkey)
