Surprisingly, even a flock of six returning east were so high they presumably hadn’t descended as they usually do on approaching Land’s End (where birds often assemble overnight east of Land’s End in the Skewjack area) before turning back. At this height even if they had wing-tags (many are not tagged nowadays) it would have been impossible to see them to determine which reintroduction scheme they had come from. (D Flumm)
